Uttarakhand is a state which has a lot of hidden treasures. Here are some ideas where one can explore.


This is a lovely hill station and yet it has not been explored by many yet. So, one who is seeking some offbeat destinations in the hills then this is one. The natural beauty of this place will leave one mesmerized and one can also view the beauty of the Lohawati River from above. This place is still untouched and so nature is in its full bloom here. One can also pay a visit to the Pancheshwar Mahadev Temple which is around 40 kilometers away from the town. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it has a lot of water streams surrounding it. one can also take a dip into the holy Maha Kali River is they want to. People believe that taking a dip there means they will be having a blissful life ahead.

Mana Village

This place is located in the Chamoli district and it is said to be the last inhabited village in India. This is the last village because the India and China border lies only 24 kilometers away from it. This village is also very close to one of the four famous pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand: The Badrinath Temple. In fact, this place also has mythological importance. The very famous Vyas Guha is located just outside the village which is almost 5000 years old. Near the cave also lies the Bheema Pool which is a kind of an arc formed the stone bridge that goes over the river Saraswati. This secluded village still remains unexplored but it can certainly be a great holiday destination. One can also go for a hike to the Vasudhara Falls and get a view of the ecstatic hanging glaciers.

This is another enchanting place to visit in Uttarakhand which is almost 2200 meters above sea level. This is a little town which is still hidden from the prey of tourists. It is located at the foothills of the Panchachuli Peaks and one can go for a relaxing vacation there. One can get a clear look of the gorgeous Nanda Devi, Rajarambha and Nanda Kot peaks from here. One can also pay a visit to the Nanda Devi Temple which is dedicated to goddess Durga and can also head to the Maheshwari Kund which is a pristine lake.

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary

This is another fine hill destination when it comes to Uttarakhand. Located in the Almora district this one is perfect for the holiday seekers and also for the ones who love to trek. This place is covered with dense forests of oaks and pines and they also have lots of rhododendron forests. In fact, one who loves to watch wildlife and avid bird watchers can also go to this place to spend a long weekend. The best time is definitely the time when the migratory birds flock around here.
